Watch Usain Bolt Run for Gold in the 200m Final

Posted August 19, 2016

Usain Bolt crossed the finish line and wagged his finger at an up-and-comer who dared challenge him.

Andre De Grasse burst onto the world stage in 2015 with gold medals in the 100 and 200 metres at the Pan Am Games and bronze in the 100 at the world championships. Especially at the Olympics.

The athlete is now rewriting the history books of the Olympic Games by remaining undefeated and on course to win the 200m sprint event as well as the 4x100m relay event, and has already won his third consecutive gold medal in the 100m sprint at the Games.

Bolt said he would have a better chance of achieving his goal to run under 19 seconds if he gets a high lane, adding: "If I get a lower lane it's always harder for me to run the corner when it is tighter".

Cisco to lay off 5500 workers, earnings beat expectations
No details were immediately given as to how many jobs the San Jose-based company plans on shedding in the Bay Area. Revenue fell 1.6% from previous year to $12.64 billion, also exceeding Wall Street's view of $12.57 billion.

Will he break the world record?

It's clear the internet doesn't care though, so long as Bolt and De Grasse keep smiling. But he didn't really find it amusing. After all, while it is the 100m that is track and field's showpiece race and where Bolt also holds the world record, it is over 200m that he is even more dominant. "I struggle a lot, everyone knows, in the start of my race in the 100 metres", De Grasse told CBC. He's a young kid, he's great. He racked up 4,489 points through five events, which puts him in third place heading into the final day of the competition.

Many wonder whether De Grasse might have more left in the tank than he's letting on too. On Thursday, nobody will be coasting in.

"I remember that I still have to run and execute right, so I'm focused on getting it done".

But back in 2006 he was still fresh off of a stunning performance in the Athens Olympics, where he won his first six gold medals. Phelps finished his wonderful career with an Olympic-record 23 gold medals and 28 overall, including five gold medals in Rio.

Bolt is the Jamaican superstar that already has won a gold in the 100-meter dash at these Olympics.

Melissa Bishop will run in Heat 2 of the 800m semifinals on Thursday.

LASHAWN MERRITT: It's not Bolt, but Merritt, who now has the year's best time at 200 meters (19.74 seconds). Other short odds to prevail are Andre De Grasse (+1600) and LaShawn Merritt (+2800). The 34-year-old was eliminated, coming third in his semi-final and missing out by 0.03 seconds on progressing to the final.

Bolt vs. Gatlin II at the Olympics is off. The man who received it, Shawn Crawford, didn't think it was a fair ruling and gave Martina back his silver, though the official results stayed the same.

Some people toward the front of the line said when they to the arena at 9 a.m., there were already a ton of people waiting. Anyone who fills out the form is added to a list of people who will be used to staff as many polling places as possible.

There was a surprise, though, as Justin Gatlin, the fastest man in 200m this year, failed to make it to the final.
