United States to Increase Tensions in Syria

That operation, dubbed "Euphrates Shield" by Turkey, was launched after months of attacks on Kilis reduced parts of the town to rubble.

They had effectively cleansed the border region of ISIS militants.

It said the Turkish Air Force also carried out strikes on Islamic State targets, destroying five buildings, while six rebels were wounded in an Islamic State auto bomb attack northeast of the town of Azaz.

Rocket attacks against Kilis were among the primary reasons of Operation Euphrates Shield, which saw Turkey backing Free Syrian Army (FSA) elements to advance in the border section between the towns of Azaz and Jarablus in northern Syria.
