Several injured in attack at German train station; 2 arrests

Witnesses say a man armed with an axe started hitting people with the weapon at the train station.

Those injured were not in a life-threatening condition, the police spokesman said.

According to reports in the German press, at least five people were wounded; the extent of their injuries were not yet known. However so far police have not given any indication as to the motivation or identities of those involved.

In the middle of an airport security check with everyone staring at you is the most uncomfortable. A random pat down may include inspection of the head, neck, arms, torso, legs and feet.

Two suspects are believed to have been detained by police but the motive for the attack is now unknown.

Terrified passengers took to social media to say the situation inside the station "looked bad" shortly after the attack.

"We were standing on the track, waiting for the train", a station attendant told the German newspaper Bild.
