Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk: SUV with a Hellcat heart

Posted April 12, 2017

To get things in motion, we can officially say that everything Hellcat is still in place - namely the 6.2-liter supercharged Hellcat V8 that in the Trackhawk retains the mighty 707 horsepower (527 kilowatts). Jeep will launch the Grand Cherokee Trackhawk in the United States towards the end of 2017, but it is too soon to talk about an India launch. According to Jeep, the V8 marauder will run the quarter mile in 11.6seconds at 186kmph and will continue on to a top speed of 290kmph.

More details will be announced during the vehicle's official debut at the New York International Show (NYIAS) on Wednesday, April 12.

"Long recognised as the full-size SUV capability leader, Jeep Grand Cherokee is now the most powerful and quickest SUV as well, with the introduction of our new 527kW Trackhawk", said Jeep's global chief Mike Manley.

ISIS propaganda chief killed in strike on Iraq-Syria border
In addition to civilians caught in the crossfire inside the city, many more have fled their homes to escape the fighting. Al Ansari was killed with four others in a strike Saturday in al Qaim, Iraq, on the border with Syria, Scrocca said.

To cope with the significant performance increase there's an upgraded powertrain including a modified TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission "engineered to handle additional torque output".

Inside, it's very similar to an SRT Grand Cherokee, except with a 200 miles per hour speedometer and a few Trackhawk badges. The housing is redesigned relative to the one in the SRT8 with revised ring-and-pinion tooth geometry and a new four-point axle mounting scheme to better distribute the enormous forces attempting to twist it away from the chassis. The Hellcat engine delivers 645 pound-feet of torque and is made from cast-iron and a forger steel crankshaft.

The front brakes are the biggest to ever grace a Jeep vehicle.

Samsung has started firmware development for the Galaxy Note 8
However, the Samsung Galaxy C7 Pro runs on Qualcomm MSM8953 Snapdragon 625 and is powered by Android OS, v6.0.1. It boasts 4GB RAM with 64GB internal memory which can be expanded up to 256GB with a microSD card.

The Selec-Track system uses performance-tuned software to pre-configure and distinguish the five dynamic modes - Auto, Sport, Track, Snow and Tow (capable of towing 7,200 pounds). The fog lights have also been taken out to allow more air intake and cooling, while the ride height is 1-inch lower than the standard Grand Cherokee. Beyond this it's also got Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop; Advanced Brake Assist; Blind-spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection; Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Crash Mitigation; Front and Rear Park Assist; Lane Departure Warning-Plus; and Ready Alert Braking. A "Supercharged" badge on both front doors and a Trackhawk badge on the liftgate reminds others of its identity. They are covered with 20 by 10 inch titanium wheels. The driver-centric interior will come with premium materials, a black chrome finish and an 8.4-inch infotainment system.

On the standard 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen, which features Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, are exclusive Trackhawk Performance Pages to monitor and record various performance parameters.
