Mauricio Pochettino: 'Dele Alli should be up for main PFA award'

Posted April 14, 2017

Arsenal's Alexis Sanchez, Manchester United's Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Chelsea pair Eden Hazard and N'Golo Kante have been nominated as the Professional Footballers Association's Player of the Year for the 2016/2017 season, reports.

Harry Kane (Tottenham), Dele Alli (Tottenham), Romelu Lukaku (Everton), Michael Keane (Burnley), Jordan Pickford (Sunderland), Leroy Sané (Manchester City).

Leicester City's Riyad Mahrez won the award previous year, after playing a vital part in Leicester's title-winning season.

Mauricio Pochettino feels that Tottenham midfielder Dele Alli should have been included on the PFA Players' Player of the Year shortlist.

Pochettino is quite happy both his players are recognised for both awards, but feels the young England player should have been recognised for the PFA player of the year accolade.
