The BJP chief told the party members that time had come to tell the world that a political party with a specific ideology could meet aspirations of the people and serve the nation.

"The main theme of the Prime Minister's address was socio-economic transformation of India, good and corruption-free governance. It indicates how much the Prime Minister is concerned about Odisha's development".

The Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi addressing the relatives of leading freedom fighters of Odisha, at a special programme, in Bhubaneswar, Odisha on April 16, 2017. The top leaders of the BJP, including Narendra Modi, are in Odisha for a party conclave and a public rally. "Not only for strengthening the party but we should also work for positive change in the country", the BJP chief said.

Shah has asked party workers to go the extra mile to strengthen the party in 120 Lok Sabha constituencies where it is weak. "He also emphasised on the importance of raising issues with utmost deliberation, especially when on record", he said. In a sarcastic attack, Shah said that when United Progressive Alliance won the 2004 and 2009 general elections or the Bahujan Samaj Party and Samajwadi Party won the Uttar Pradesh elections in 2007 and 2012, then there was no problem, but now all of sudden questions are being raised about EVMs.

Asked about the comment of Modi on triple talaq, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, who briefed the media later, said the Prime Minister briefly spoke on the issue saying "Muslim women should get justice and none should be exploited".

The poor, said Javadekar, have turned to the BJP because for "65 years, the Congress and other parties used them as vote-banks".

Modi focused on developing "Jan Dhan" (bank accounts, wealth for the poor), "Van Dhan" (tribals, forests, environment, etc), "Jal Dhan" (irrigation, drinking water, water recharge, use of sea water) for all encompassing development of the country. People of Odisha has reposed their credibility and confidence on PM Modi. That is why the BJP is gaining ground in States like Manipur where we used get 2 per cent vote and now get 33 per cent, in Odisha where we were hovering around 10-12 per cent and now stand at 36 per cent.

"We will also win Odisha", Shah said at the meeting.
