Camping World Announces Acquisition of Gander Mountain

Posted Мая 06, 2017

Signs in the front windows said "everything must go", while a large banner on the north side of the building that opened in 2004 said "going out of business". The Albemarle location opened in the Northtown Center development in 2013.

Camping World was chosen on April 28 as the winning bidder at a bankruptcy auction for certain assets of Gander Mountain and its Overton's boating business.

Signs posted at the store located at the Eastwood Mall Complex boast of savings of up to 30 % on outdoor items after a bankruptcy judge approved the liquidation sale on Thursday. They have until October to decide which and how many stores they will keep, he said, and liquidation could take several months.

The St. Paul chain filed for bankruptcy protection in March and announced it would be closing 32 stores in 11 states. Camping World plans to operate at least 17 Gander Mountain stores while auctioning off more than 100 leases of the sporting goods company's other locations at a later date, according to Reuters.

Marcus Lemonis, Chairman and CEO of Camping World, stated, "The Gander Mountain and Overton customer and their affinity to the outdoor lifestyle are the flawless complement to our Camping World business".

The Coldwater location is one of 160 Gander Mountain stores.
