Second Game Ever To Do This: Minecraft Will Support Cross-Console Play

Posted June 15, 2017

Xbox Live will be uniting the global Minecraft community across mobile, VR, PC, mobile and consoles. Minecraft Realms is Microsoft's subscription service that allows players to create a dedicated Minecraft world to share with their friends.

"We've wanted to integrate cross-platform for ages, essentially making a version of Minecraft that's consistent no matter what device you're choosing to play on".

The most interesting enhancement to the Minecraft experience is the addition of cross-platform play.

Microsoft bought Minecraft in 2014 for $2.5 billion, so it makes sense the Xbox One version is getting some love in the Better Together update.

Virginia Democrats vying to be face of Trump resistance
The attorney general race will have Democrat Mark Herring, the incumbent, facing Republican John Adams in the November 7 election. While he may not have the high-profile endorsements of Northam, experts say he's attracting the same group that aligned with Sen.

The same goes for those who own Minecraft on the PS4 and the Nintendo Switch.

The concept is simple: If you're playing "Minecraft" on any platform, you're playing with everyone else. And that's not all: "see a first reveal of the new Super Duper Graphics Pack, coming this fall!"

But what does a unified version of Minecraft mean?

The original PC version, now dubbed the "Java Edition", will continue to receive the same updates, and in fact, it has more developers working on it than ever before. This led to Eurogamer pointing out the frustration of fans who are asking why they can't play with other platforms and getting a unusual response.

Senate should have rejected sending weapons to Saudi Arabia
In March, the Trump administration announced it meant to continue sales despite the deteriorating humanitarian situation in Yemen. Schumer also says Saudi Arabia finances the operations of schools that spread extremist propaganda throughout the world.

Players do need to be reminded that their existing worlds will be safe.

The Minecraft team is also looking into including the PlayStation 4 as part of this shared, cross-platform ecosystem for Minecraft, but has nothing to announce regarding concrete plans at this time.

Independent servers, run by members of the incredible Minecraft community, have been around since the earliest days of the game.

With the launch of Microsoft's new Xbox One X gamers got an update on the latest Minecraft news - chiefly that Minecraft is now available across any device. Purchases made on any of the supported platforms will reflect across all platforms.
