Riots In Jerusalem Over Security Checks Prompted By Terrorist Attack

Between 500,000 and 600,000 Israelis live in Jewish-only settlements across occupied East Jerusalem and the West Bank in violation of worldwide law, with announcements of settlement expansion earlier this year sparking condemnation from the global community. The three attackers were seriously wounded, one of them was killed in cold blood, and the occupants prevented the doctors from providing assistance.

Jordan's king is now on vacation in the US, Israel's prime minister is in Europe and the Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas is on a four-day visit to China.

Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld said three armed assailants, whom he identified as terrorists, targeted police units in the area.

The violent altercations began in response to the installation of metal detectors outside the entrance to the Temple Mount. In Islam, the same structure is referred to as the Noble Sanctuary, with Al-Aqsa Mosque and Dome of the Rock as the third holiest site for Muslims.

While the Wakf has rejected the metal detectors and called on Muslim worshipers not to go through them in order to enter the Temple Mount, the police have said the detectors are meant to ensure security and were put in place after weapons were found at the site.

More than 300 Palestinians have lost their lives at the hands of Israeli forces in the ongoing tensions since the beginning of October 2015.

Possible human remains recovered in search for fugitive
Last month, the Post-Gazette reported that a secret room had been found inside Webb's ex-wife's home. Webb, then 49, was a jewelry thief from MA with connections to the New England mob.

Netanyahu said he had agreed to increased security measures there.

The crowd swelled to 300 by noon, which resulted to a sporadic outburst of scuffles between Israeli security forces and protesters.

It also supported prayers at the gates of the mosque and in the streets of Jerusalem until the metal detectors are removed.

It appears that the group of young Jewish visitors persuaded a young boy who was with them to act as if he was praying between the mosques, which violates the visitation guidelines, while they stood around him and took pictures.

The new security measures are likely to be controversial.
