Video Shows Car Plunge 7 Stories Off Parking Garage, Narrowly Miss SUV

A auto fell seven stories out of an Austin, Texas parking garage.

In the video, a Chevrolet Tahoe is seen trying to turn around in the alley. All is normal until 0:30, when suddenly, the BMW plummets from the sky and lands nose down just inches from the side of the Tahoe, clipping the truck's back corner as it pirouettes and comes to rest on its roof.

The video, released Thursday, shows the vehicle bouncing off the pavement into a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV, then rolling upside down in the alley.

According to KXAN, the crash occurred when the woman driving the BMW mistook the gas pedal for the brakes and crashed through the parking garage barriers.

A woman in the BMW suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries. After the crash, he told local TV station KVUE, he was turning around with his window down when he heard something "I was talking to my mom on speaker on my phone, and I heard all these loud noises and bangs...."

"I can just imagine what she was thinking when I had said, 'a vehicle just landed on me, I gotta go, '" he said.
