Battered Florida tries to assess scope of Irma's destruction

After Jose is predicted to become a tropical storm, the hurricane center's cone of probability forecasts it will regain hurricane strength Thursday and loop away from the United States by early Sunday morning.

With 185 mph max winds for 37 hours, Irma shattered the previous record for longest maximum intensity, which was 24 hours, set by Haiyan in the Pacific Ocean.

Miami on Florida's east coast and Naples on the west coast were among the worst hit by Irma.

Irma is now a post-tropical cyclone, ragged and weakened after ravaging the Caribbean and tearing through Florida.
