The former Federal Bureau of Investigation director has asked the Trump administration for documents about 13 different areas where he wants information, the New York Times reported Wednesday.

Comey has also said that Trump, in a private Oval Office meeting in February, told him that he hoped he would end the FBI investigation into Flynn, an allegation that Trump has denied.

Mueller's team sent the request to the White House spelling out 13 different areas that they want to know more about, the paper reported on its website. That day, Trump met with the Russian foreign minister, Sergey V. Lavrov, and the Russian ambassador to the United States at the time, Sergey I. Kislyak, along with other Russian officials.

Senator Chris Coons has co-sponsored a measure that would keep special counsel Robert Mueller from being fired as he investigates whether there was collusion between the Trump campaign and Russian Federation during the presidential campaign. "But not the right the fire to FBI director in order to obstruct an ongoing investigation of the collaboration with the Russians".

Mueller, who was hired to investigate Russia's interference in the 2016 election and any possible links or ties to the Trump campaign, is now clearly investigating President Trump's actions post-election.

In response, Trump Jr. released a statement claiming that the meeting was "primarily" about "a program about the adoption of Russian children".

Both outlets reported that Mueller has also requested documents pertaining to former National Security Advisor Mike Flynn's departure from the White House.
