Police found the body of a small child Sunday morning, CBS Dallas/Fort Worth reports.
On Sunday around 11 a.m., police held a press conference explaining that the body could belong to Sherin, although the coroner is still expected to determine her identity.
The body is presumed to be that of three year old Sherin Mathews, reported missing by her parents on October 7th.
Child protective services removed Wesley Matthew's 4-year-old biological daughter and placed her in state custody after Sherin disappeared and he was arrested.
Wesley Mathews was later arrested for abandoning or endangering a child. He has since posted bond, according to Perlich.
Hollande slams Trump's 'double fault' over Iran nuclear deal
Mr Trump has not broken the letter of the nuclear deal, but he has disrupted it enough to damage investment and trade with Iran. In spite of Europe's apparent leaning towards Tehran, President Trump has continued to put pressure on all parties.
The location where the body was found is close to the Mathews' home, the Dallas News reported.
Mathews told police that he had seen coyotes in the alley near where he told his daughter to stand, the affidavit said.
A positive identification of the body has not been made, but police said they believe it's Sherin.
The body was reportedly found by the canine unit, which also caused the closure of about seven blocks while the Federal Bureau of Investigation searched for more evidence.
The body will be identified and the cause of death determined by a medical examiner. At one point in those five hours before police were contacted, a vehicle belonging to the Mathews family drove away from the house, police claimed, not returning until an hour later.

Law enforcement has since searched the Mathews' home and taken a number of items, including a vacuum cleaner, trash bags, hair fibers, cell phones and laptops, police said. That may explain why she was punished at 3 a.m., he said.
Sherin had developmental disability and was malnourished, according to her parents.
Sherins case also caught the attention of External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
Officials from the Indian Embassy in the US and the Indian Consulate in Houston tweeted late last week that they are in contact with police regarding the investigation and actively helping.
