1 dead in University of Utah shooting, suspect on the loose

Police say they are seeking a 24-year-old suspect.

There is no indication the woman was injured.

Kathleen E. Boutain was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail Tuesday on unrelated drug and theft charges, according to Salt Lake County jail records. He was also wanted for questioning in the death of a 63-year-old man whose body was found in a trailer in Golden, Colorado. No attorney or publicly listed phone numbers have been available for him.

During a news conference Tuesday morning, authorities stated they had reason to believe Boutain and his wife were also connected to a recent homicide in Colorado, according to the Salt Lake Tribune.
