World of Warcraft's next expansion adds voice chat

Posted November 06, 2017

Blizzard's annual Blizzcon event in Anaheim, California, kicked off on Friday with various game-related announcements, but the most surprising one dug back into the company's history.

While World of Warcraft: Battle for Azeroth feels like a return to the beginnings of World of Warcraft, players who want to experience a good old-fashioned Orcs vs. Humans war without having to buy a new expansion will be happy to know that Blizzard is working on its own vanilla server.

Starcraft II Is Going Free To Play Later This Month
Units from Wings of Liberty, Heart of the Swarm and Legacy of the Void campaigns will appear in the ranked ladder. In the seven years since it released in 2010, StarCraft II has awarded over $11M in prizes to competitors.

Battle for Azeroth will see the removal of the Legion expansion's Artifact Weapons.

As a champion of the Horde, travel to the Zandalar empire to persuade the trolls to lend their naval might. On top of the expected increased level caps and new zones, the expansion will focus on the age-old conflict between World of Warcraft's two factions, the Alliance and the Horde.

Reset your clocks: Daylight saving time ends Sunday
After the national repeal in 1919, some states and cities, including New York City and Chicago, continued to shift their clocks. Not all states observe daylight saving time since states can exempt themselves from the time change.

Take a new form for your adventures as several new playable Allied Races, each with unique racial abilities. There will two new continents to explore, along with new resources for the big battle. Battle in groups of three as you race against cunning rival intruders-or enemy players-to collect each island's resources and fuel the war effort. Of course, you won't just be able to create characters of these new races immediately; you'll have to first earn favour with the various factions, such as the Highmountain Tauren or the Void Elves, if you're to add their strength to your forces.

In Warfronts, up to 20 players will work together to "claim a key strategic location", battle enemy commanders and siege specific objectives along the way. Imbue the Heart of Azeroth-a legendary neck piece entrusted to each hero by Magni Bronzebeard-with Azerite to customise your armour with new powers and traits. Share strategies with members of your class, fraternise with auction house magnates, talk shop with fellow tailors, and expand your social circles. Since the focus of the new expansion is the Alliance fighting the Horde, it will be up to players to make as many allies as possible to give their side an advantage in the upcoming war, and this will be done via quests. Information about the release date Battle for Azeroth is not reported.
