Trump kept the war of words going while speaking at a meeting in Missouri ridiculing Kim as a "sick puppy" and "little rocket man".

Lavrov said Haley's call for the world to isolate North Korea was wrong.

"We perceived this negatively", Lavrov told journalists in the Belarusian capital, Minsk, commenting on Washington's statement on the need to cut ties with North Korea.

Haley said that many countries have made economic sacrifices to enforce strict sanctions against North Korea and put the main task of containing Pyongyang on China's shoulders. "If war does come, it will be because of continued acts of aggression like we witnessed yesterday". "We have the impression that it was all done specially to get Kim Jong Un to "fly off the handle" and take another reckless step".
