Soul Calibur VI announced during The Game Awards 2017

This new character seems to mimic the binary opposition of the evil Soul Edge blade and titular, heroic Soulcalibur with one blade being an ominous purple and the other with golden highlights.

Soulcalibur VI has finally been announced! The SoulCalibur franchise, first released in the arcades back in 1995 has been the go to game for many fans of the fighting genre. Challenge the computer AI, compete against friends, or challenge fighters from around the world in high-speed dynamic battles with jaw-dropping visual effects.

Both parties have said that they hope the matter will be resolved soon, but neither looks likely to budge. That includes Amazon Fire tablets, as Google hasn't threatened to block those yet.

The battle mechanics do look different in Soulcalibur VI with the dodging and weapons beginning to glow.

Soul Calibur, Bandai Namco's other fighting franchise, will prove that the soul still burns with a new entry in 2018.

SoulCalibur VI will include a whole host of new and old characters including firm favourites, Mitsurugi and Sophitia. While there were few specific details one could pull from this trailer, the little we've seen here looks handsome and full of the burning excitement we've come to expect from the Soul Calibur franchise.

Following the big reveal at this year's Game Awards, SoulCalibur VI just released a new gameplay video at PlayStation Experience. It's set to release in 2018 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. What would you like to see changed or kept the same?
