Instagram Has Now Added Recommended Posts Into Your Feed

According to Instagram's help section, the posts are suggested according to content liked by the accounts you follow. The "Recommended for You" section will consist of three or five suggested posts, as shown in the live version.

The above change, however, isn't anything revolutionary given that recommended posts were available earlier as well, though those used to clubbed separately under the explore tab.

Instagram isn't offering you recommended post for the first time, But previously, to explore the suggested content you'd have to go to the Explore section to see the recommended videos and posts, which were not allowed on your home feed.

We're not seeing these in our Instagram feed yet, but we expect them to appear soon. The photo-sharing platform has offered recommended content in the past.

Since Instagram switched from the chronological feed to the algorithmic one, this is probably one of the biggest changes the platform has down to the way how its feed looks. If you see something you don't like, you can temporarily hide "Recommended for You" posts by tapping the camera icon above the post and selecting "Hide". Besides, the recommended posts will only appear once you have viewed all the stories on your timeline.

As expected, users haven't taken the injection of "recommended posts" positively.

Another Twitter user was also unimpressed by the new update. For the hashtags, you can easily opt in and out voluntarily.

You know the way Instagram is mostly about likes and less about the comments etc? Now, as an Instagram subscriber, you will start to receive posts in a new section called "Recommended for You", even if they are from people whom you do not follow. This way, you can follow things that interest you, instead of just following people. The recommended content is, however, not optional and there is no way you can disable it.
