HTC's Vive Pro makes your virtual world a whole lot clearer

The report also suggests that there is an HTC Vive Wireless Adapter which is "an official Vive accessory based on Intel's WiGig connection" and won't be out until Q3 2018. HTC said that Intel's wireless protocol provides an interference-free signal that can stream high-quality visuals with less than 7ms of latency. Those familiar with the HTC Vive will also notice how there are now two front-facing chaperone cameras, alongside dual microphones with noise cancellation.

To start, there are dual-OLED displays, with a resolution of 2880 x 1600. There's no word on when the wireless adapter is going to be available, or how much it will cost.

These will be available via a revamped version of the Viveport VR store.

Kmart stores in Butte, Helena to close in early April
Sears wasn't the only department store to announce closings Thursday. It's unclear how long of a lease Sears has at the mall. Liquidation sales will start as early as next week.

The company also partnered with Vimeo to integrate more video content into a revamped version of its Vive Video app, and now lets users choose the next video while they still watch the current clip - perhaps laying the foundation for binge-watching in VR. One of the complaints of the original Vive was that it was hard to adjust and heavy, and you had to plug in headphones, creating another cable dangling to potentially upset your VR experience.

Announced separately to HTC Vive's announcement, Valve also unveiled Steam VR Pro, enabling developers - and soon consumers - to connect up to four Vive baystations to each other.

Intel GM of VR Group Frank Soqui says, "Wireless VR has been on almost every VR user's wishlist since the technology was unveiled".

Here's What Trump Wants in Deal to Protect Dreamers
If that work was completed, more than half of the almost 2,000 mile-border with Mexico would be lined with a physical barrier. Some say this list of demands from the White House could derail those negotiations.

That's certainly the case with most of the virtual reality headsets we've seen for the past couple of years, with only mobile VR - the Gear VR and Google Daydream headsets - really escaping the wired fate.

HTC has not announced pricing and availability for either device, but the Vive Pro is expected in Q1 while the wireless adaptor is coming around the "summer".

These advancements deliver on VR users' desire for higher resolution, improved audio, greater comfort, wireless freedom and immersive content discovery. Still, if we're looking at 1,440 x 1,600 per eye just two years on from the initial HTC Vive announcement, it won't take too long for 4K to come along. The system even works in environments with multiple Vive users in the same space.
