Ben Affleck Turned Down Directing 'Flashpoint' Movie

Vacation filmmakers John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are reportedly in negotiations to direct the stand-alone movie based around Ezra Miller's The Flash over at Warner Brothers.

According to Variety, Daley and Goldstein will be working on a script provided by Joby Harold (King Arthur), and the movie, of course, will have Ezra Miller in the starring role of Barry Allen/The Flash.

However, according to the aides, Senators and Representatives want AT&T to halt this collaborative effort with Huawei . One aide also signaled that maintaining ties could make it more hard for US companies to do business with Washington.

The filmmakers - who were also said to be considered as potential directors for "Spider-Man: Homecoming", which was eventually helmed by Jon Watts - directed 2015 comedy motion picture "Vacation" and forthcoming film "Game Night".

Fans of comic book superhero movies should recognize those names as the filmmaking duo are the writers of last year's spectacular Spider-Man: Homecoming for Marvel, which means they definitely know their way around young superheroes as geeky as they are quippy. The production company has recently promoted Walter Hamada to oversee the DC Universe movies.
