Mark Cuban denies 2011 sexual assault allegation

Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was reportedly investigated by OR cops in 2011 after a woman claimed he sexually assaulted her in a bar.

Cuban told the Associated Press in a late night email Tuesday, "It didn't happen".

In a report explaining why they weren't pursuing the case, prosecutors wrote that 'there is no evidence to corroborate the complainant's statement and there is evidence contradicting the claim'.

Cuban's attorney, Stephen Houze, provided the newspaper with the following statement: "These allegations are thoroughly investigated by the Multnomah County District's Attorney's Office and the Portland Police Bureau. Cuban. This incident never happened and her accusations are false".

Though originally presented to police in 2011, the accuser came forward this week, saying she did so because "What he did was wrong".

"Investigators obtained a series of seven photographs taken with a cell phone camera showing the complainant and her female friend standing next to Mr". Cuban and no one observed any inappropriate behavior by Mr. Cuban actually chose to speak at length with Portland Police Detective Brendan McGuire, who filed the report, rather than consulting an attorney first.

In addition to the polygraph test, Cuban's claims that he didn't assault the woman were buoyed by two George Washington University medical school urologists who gave Portland police an opinion indicating Cuban couldn't have committed the crime.

"In both images, Cuban's right shoulder is lowered and he appears to be stretching to reach his arm down", McGuire's report says, as quoted by Willamette Week. Willamette Week reports that prosecutors did not press charges after finding insufficient evidence to support the woman's claims. "I stand behind that report 1,000%".

Last month, Sports Illustrated published a report detailing several instances of alleged sexual harassment and domestic violence by Dallas Mavericks employees, including former president and CEO Terdema Ussery.
