The 2018 Indianapolis 500 was Patrick's final race before retirement and her first Indy 500 since 2011.

"They said they looked back at the data and it was kind of a little lift in the middle, a little bit of understeer and then back to it and it just swung".

Patrick added that it was not the ending she wanted for her career. It's one of those races where you kick yourself - I should have gone for track position. She had one pole - the Daytona 500 in 2013 - becoming the first woman to earn a pole award in NASCAR history.

Despite the disappointing finish to her career, Patrick has accomplished many milestones in auto racing since joining IndyCar in 2005. "I did have some good moments here this month and I won't forget that, either". "In a couple of days I'll feel better".

Patrick was unable to dodge the bullet when she crashed coming out of Turn 2 and hit the inside retaining wall on Lap 68. She was released after a medical evaluation. The final news conference of her racing career came with a hiccup. "I'll leave. I don't even want to be here because I'm pretty sad".

Still, she is respected and in some cases revered at Indianapolis, where fans still remember her leading the 2009 race before finishing third. Throughout her career, Patrick made eight appearances in the Indianapolis 500 and finished in the top 10 during six of those.

I expect both of them to get at Oracle Arena hours before the game and put up hundreds of shots to rediscover their strokes. He is now 7 of 25 from long range-he made one in each of the first two games. "He didn't create those", Kerr said.

Patrick was a polarizing figure in racing, and that increased exponentially when she moved from IndyCar to NASCAR beginning in 2010. She was surrounded by autograph-seekers all month, and she got one of the loudest ovations during driver introductions Sunday. "I was wondering if I would ever win it and thoughts when through my mind during the month, my career", he said. She plans to focus on her business and entrepreneur opportunities in retirement. "But I'm grateful for all of it. Wish I could have finished stronger".
