The 41st president died Friday at his home in Houston at 94.

The funeral at the Washington National Cathedral, set to be attended by a wide array of former presidents and politicians, including Donald Trump, will last 90 minutes.

On Thursday, a private funeral service with about 1,200 invited guests will be held at the church starting at 10 a.m. CST. He was president from 1989 to 1993. His final resting place will be alongside Barbara Bush, his wife of 73 years who died in April, and Robin Bush, the daughter they lost to leukemia in 1953 at age 3. The train will take about 2½ hours to travel roughly 70 miles to the city of College Station, home to Bush's presidential library at Texas A&M University.

"As one person said, he can do just about anything except make you a martini, but not to worry, he can go get you someone to make you a martini", Bush family spokesman Jim McGrath said in June.

Wreaths were placed at the casket by congressional leaders from both parties, as the Bush family, including former President George W. Bush looked on.

He said Bush's "quality of life had deteriorated a lot" in recent months, but that near the end he was able to talk by phone with his adult children, including former President George W. Bush. The detail, made up of agents who enjoyed a close relationship with the former President, will be with him until he is interred and in the second vehicle in the motorcades that will lead to all the ceremonies.
