Rudy Giuliani's Twitter typo leads to anti-Trump prank

Posted December 06, 2018

All you need to know is that in his haste, or his attempt to emulate Trump, Giuliani included several typos in the tweet, including the omission of a space at the start of a sentence that started with the word "in".

Giuliani, who is one of President Donald Trump's lawyers battling the Mueller investigation, accidentally tweeted the random hyperlink "G-20.in" by not putting a space after a period.

Most twitterians lauded the person who bought the domain and captioned it.

May's Brexit deal vote will go ahead, despite opposition
After months of negotiations, the Brexit deal has been thrashed out. That's something May has said won't happen on her watch.

This was an easy target on social media. We can laugh about "cybersecurity advisor" and "expert" Rudy Giuliani not understanding how top level domains and links work, but then we should be terrified to think that. who the hell is actually advising the administration on very serious issues regarding internet security, at a time when tons of entities, from lowly criminals to aggressive nationstates, are using the network to mount various attacks.

A Twitter spokesman said "the accusation that we're artificially injecting something into a tweet is completely false". Giuliani had unintentionally left out a space between a period and the beginning of another sentence that began with "In", which also happens to be the internet country code for India.

At most, Velazquez thought his stunt would get a "few hundred retweets" and then be absorbed into the Twittersphere, but by early Wednesday morning, Giuliani's tweet containing the link had about 45,000 likes and almost 17,000 retweets.

Trump himself has cast the meeting as a do-or-die encounter that will either result in a deal or an escalation in the trade war. The pair discussed trade, co-operation in the Pacific, and the security situations in Iran and North Korea.

"Don't tell me they are not committed cardcarrying anti-Trumpers", Giuliani said of Twitter.

After discovering the gaffe, Giuliani tweeted on Tuesday that he didn't mistype the tweet.

"Click on Rudy's link", wrote actress and activist Alyssa Milano to her 3.47 million Twitter followers. The first tweet references Mueller's recent filings against Paul Manafort, Trump's former campaign boss, for lying (again) to the Special Counsel's Office.

Donald Trump asks USA court to fast-track trans military ban ruling
That proposal replaced President Trump's plan to ban all transgender military members, which he announced via Twitter in 2017. Trump reversed the policy, prompting outrage and lawsuits, which were ruled against the Trump administration.

Giuliani has actually made this mistake before.
