The boss of NetherRealm Studios, ed boon (Ed Boon) from the stage, The Game Awards the 2018 presented Mortal Kombat 11 - "the next evolution of the iconic franchise", as said by the developers. Mortal Kombat 11 also promises a roster of new and returning kombatants, including Raiden and Scorpion.

According to the PlayStation description of the promo, the new games give users "unprecedented control to customise characters".
