Stone was charged with lying to Congress and obstructing an investigation into alleged collusion between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign.

Roger Stone speaks after his appearance at Federal Court in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on January 25, 2019. However, I think the Mueller investigation is really at the bottom of the barrel when they're looking at people like this. "For instance, Donald Trump".

"Now you look at Roger Stone. To storm my house with greater force than was used to take down Bin Laden or El Chapo or Pablo Escobar, to terrorize my wife and my dogs, it's unconscionable".

"That's a question that I'd have to determine after my attorneys have some discussion", the longtime Republican operative and friend of President Donald Trump told ABC's "This Week" on Sunday.

"There were 29 Federal Bureau of Investigation agents in 17 vehicles, two of which were armored", Napolitano said on air Monday, referring to the Stone arrest. "It's true that we spoke on the phone, but those communications are political in nature, they're benign, and there is certainly no conspiracy with Russian Federation", he said.

That was three days after USA intelligence agencies issued a public warning that the Russian government was using the organization, already well known for its disclosures of government secrets, to interfere with the presidential election.

The indictment said Stone told members of Trump's 2016 presidential campaign that he had advance knowledge of plans by the WikiLeaks website to release damaging emails about Trump's Democratic opponent, Hillary Clinton.

The charging documents in the Stone case said a senior Trump campaign official "was directed to contact Stone about any additional releases and what other damaging information" WikiLeaks had about Clinton's campaign.

According to the indictment, Stone was in communication with a high-ranking Trump campaign official who has been identified as Steve Bannon.
