How Odell Beckham being traded to the Browns impacts the Eagles

Posted March 14, 2019

Now that the shock of Odell Beckham Jr.'s trade to the Browns has worn off, one thing that has come into question is what his new contract will look like.

According to multiple reports, including the New York Post, Big Blue traded their controversial wide receiver to Cleveland for the Browns' first-round pick (No. 17), second third-round pick and strong safety Jabril Peppers.

Peppers interception set up a score for the Browns and then in the fourth quarter when Denver was trying to mount a drive, the former Heisman finalist for MI football came up with a sack to finish off a big win.

Until Trump's announcement, the Federal Aviation Administration had said that it didn't have any data to show the jets are unsafe. Southwest is the world's largest operator of the 737 MAX 8 with 34 jets, while American flies 24 MAX 8s and United 14 MAX 9s.

Safety Jabrill (juh-BRILL) Peppers was originally selected by the Cleveland Browns in the first round (25th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft. Beckham was not only the best receiver on today's Giants, but he was the best receiver this storied National Football League franchise has EVER had in their long history, and probably the best receiver they will ever have. He had 77 receptions for 1,052 yards and six touchdowns last season.

This isn't to say the Browns are going to be disappointed in the deal at all.

With the move, the Browns' odds to win the Super Bowl LIV next season have increased. The issue? The move comes one year too late, and does not mesh at all with the other decisions the franchise has made. Last year, the Giants gave him a reported $95 million contract extension in August.

The Giants, who were 5-11 in 2018, are in the early stage of a rebuild and are expected to draft a quarterback early in next month's draft.

Complicating the situation: The Giants haven't figured out their quarterback situation. But they're committed to Eli Manning, with Gettleman most recently saying "the Chiefs model worked really well" in regard to drafting Patrick Mahomes and having him sit as a rookie behind Alex Smith.
