Students in NJ will be striking on Friday for 'Green New Deal'

The group is calling for a "national emergency" on climate change and for the United States to stop all greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Schoolchildren in Cambridge have set up an eco-council to work together to learn about, and find solutions to, the climate and ecological crisis.

Inspired by Greta Thunberg's protest in Sweden, Coleman says she searched for other young activists to organize a similar school strike here.

According to Sana Shaikh, a 17-year-old student at the Morris County School of Technology and the lead organizer for New Jersey's climate strikes, more than 2,000 strikes in 123 countries around the world took place Friday.
