Mueller concludes Russian Federation probe, delivers report to Attorney General

Special Counsel Robert Mueller on Friday submitted the highly-anticipated report based on his almost two-year investigation into alleged Russian interference during the 2016 us elections, possible collusion between the Trump campaign, and so-called "related matters".

The report was delivered, as is required, by Mr Mueller to the USA department of justice following an investigation that lasted 674 days. Barr has said he wants to make as much public as possible, and any efforts to withhold details will prompt a tussle between the Justice Department and lawmakers who may subpoena Mueller and his investigators to testify before Congress.

"We look forward to getting the full Mueller report and related materials", said House Judiciary Chairman Jerry Nadler, D-New York.

"The special counsel has submitted to me today a "confidential report explaining the prosecution or declination decisions" he has reached", Barr wrote.

That appointment followed the president's decision to fire James Comey as director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Trump on Mueller report: 'Let it come out, let people see it'
Trump tweeted about the poll Monday, indicating that "very few think [the investigation] is legit". Mueller, Trump charges, "put 13 angry Democrats in" his investigative team, also false.

But Trump also took certain acts as president that caught Mueller's attention and have been scrutinized for possible obstruction.

Will the report be made public?

The almost two-year probe has shadowed Trump's presidency and resulted in felony charges against 34 people including six people who served on Trump's campaign. On Feb. 22, six Democratic committee chairs with the broadest oversight powers wrote a letter to Barr requesting they receive the report "without delay and to the maximum extent permitted by law".

Material from The Associated Press was used in this report.

"Let's just put up on the screen everybody who's already been found guilty or indicted in the Mueller investigation". Is it because Mueller has concluded that the US president can't be indicted while in office?

The president said that Mr Mueller was "best friend" to Mr Comey.

The president has repeatedly blasted the investigation as a "witch hunt" and has maintained his innocence, stating since May 2017 that there was "no collusion" between himself, or members of his campaign, and Russian Federation during the 2016 presidential election.

The probe is widely expected to end in the coming weeks, but Trump was focused on its beginnings rather than its conclusion, complaining about Deputy Attorney General Rob Rosenstein's appointment of Mueller in May 2017.

In appointing Danforth, Attorney General Janet Reno specifically directed him to draft a report for public release on his findings, which he did.
