To accommodate demand, the Walt Disney Co. released "Endgame" in more theatres - 4,662 in the US and Canada - than any opening before.

But going back to those box office figures, Avengers: Endgame is very much in unprecedented territory right now, and it'll be interesting to see how well the film can sustain its commercial momentum in the coming weeks. The opening weekend of "Avengers: Endgame" demolished box office records with a stunning $350 million in North America and $1.2 billion worldwide.

That we've had so many other successes in this journey leading to this unbelievable result with 'Avengers: "Endgame" has been nearly entirely due to the fans around the world who have supported us through it all. To put that in perspective: Infinity War made just over $2B worldwide during its entire run. Infinity War also previously held the record in Canada for biggest opening weekend, which Endgame has now eclipsed.

Hollywood's entertainment industry media partly attributed the huge success of "Avengers: Endgame" to its overperformance in China market.

With the combined global take of $2.3 billion from those two movies, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is now almost a $20 billion franchise - with "Spider-Man: Far From Home" still coming this summer. Endgame opened to great reviews from the critics and the audience keeping its fans on the edge of their seats at the theatres.

Look closely once you've clicked at what Thanos does to your results on the Google search page and also keep an eye on the number of results at the top - many of it is wiped from existence similar to what happens in Infinity War! With that being said, the Russo Brothers aren't really known for doing things like that, which means this may have just set up the Loki Disney+ TV series. Also, incidentally, Disney owns both Marvel and Lucasfilm, so yay Disney. But if there's a place in box office coverage for "whoa, Nellie" anymore, it is perhaps here.
