Disney has officially confirmed that the next Star Wars installment, following the release of The Rise of Skywalker later this year, won't hit theaters until December 16, 2022.

The Disney-Fox merger also sees the James Cameron Avatar films acquired by the house of the mouse get released opposite the Star Wars years, on the pre-Christmas weekend every other year beginning in 2021. "Avatar 2" will now release internationally on December 17, 2021 instead of December 18, 2020 as originally planned.

These films have not yet been titled, but will most definitely exist outside of the nine numbered Skywalker Saga films.

And after the relatively lacklustre performance of Solo: A Star Wars story amid suggestions of Star Wars oversaturation, Lucasfilm - which makes the series - had already indicated that it was looking again at its original plan of releasing a Star Wars film every year.

Google also says that it has enhanced the UI with colorful accents and new fonts which help improve visibility. For example, Android Auto's update focuses on making more useful information available with fewer screen taps.

Avatar 2 had been slated to open December 18, 2020 but will now open December 17, 2021 instead.

First and foremost, there are EIGHT new Marvel movies incoming.

Disney released a revised lineup for its coming slate of films, and among those are three new "Star Wars" films.

It appears as if Disney and Lucasfilm want to keep that Christmas-time release date for its franchise of films.

The schedule also shows two untitled Marvel films in 2020 and three each in 2021 and 2022.

This is likely the start of the movies that will premiere in 2022, but there is no word if the subsequent movies will be three movies in the trilogy or if Disney is putting out different movies at that time.
